Nowadays, online accounts are required for countless services, besides email, which can be easily hacked if the passwords are not strong enough. Unfortunately, strong passwords are hard to remember, so you risk losing your accounts anyway. In situations like this, a password manager is exactly what you would need. Dashlane can be used to store usernames, passwords and other sensitive information in a highly encrypted database. Besides its airtight security, the application comes with other useful features, including auto-login and auto-fill capabilities.

Besides login details, Dashlane allows you to store other personal information, like notes, your contact information, IDs, payments or receipts, in separate sections of the interface, which can be accessed via navigation tabs, located on the left side of the user interface. New entries can be defined on a separate window, on which you have to fill in relevant information, in a series of input fields. You can edit your entries at any times, on an editing panel, on the main interface.

Online account entries are displayed as logos of their corresponding services, together with a few options, for editing the entries, launching their URLs or logging into the accounts. Hitting the login option will open the entry's URL immediately and sign you in automatically. The application comes with browser plug-ins as well, which enable you to log in automatically or perform other actions faster, without having to bring up the application's interface. While the plugin is up and running, you only need to visit a login page and you will be logged automatically, if the credentials are stored in your database.

Of coursed, you can disable the auto-fill if you want to, for specific pages or websites, on a tabbed panel, which you can access directly on your web browser. Besides enabling or disabling the auto-fill feature, you can also access your stored accounts instantly and generate long and complex passwords, on the aforementioned panel.

The application's auto-fill function is not limited to usernames and passwords. If you store your personal contact details in Dashlane's database, you can use the information to fill in large sign-up sheets with a single click. Also, you can store multiple sets of contact details and choose which one to use, when creating an online account.

Pros

You can store login credentials and other information in an encrypted database. The software comes with auto-fill capabilities, so you don't have to type in your usernames, passwords or personal information. Also, the browser plug-in can make it much easier to sign into one or more accounts.

Cons

Although Dashlane is free, certain features are reserved for a paid version. While using Dashlane, you only need to remember one master password to sign into any account you have.
